Work environment specialists, work environment representatives, and members of the work environment council. Mid-level managers and employers who themselves perform the duties of a work environment specialist within their institution or company, as well as anyone else interested in topics related to the work environment.

Eesmärk

The organization of occupational health and safety in a company is regulated by the Occupational Health and Safety Act (new version effective from 15 May 2024), which requires the employer to provide occupational health and safety training to elected work environment representatives and appointed members of the work environment council no later than two months from their appointment. Our occupational health and safety training has been developed in accordance with the procedure for occupational health and safety training and continuing education, established by Regulation No. 50 of 22 November 2018 of the Ministry of Social Affairs, “Procedure for the training and continuing training of work environment representatives, work environment council members, and first aid providers in a continuing education institution.” The training is also suitable as initial training for a beginner work environment specialist.

  • employer’s preventive activities in the workplace, including employee instruction and training, ergonomics, and workplace adaptation;
  • organization of health checks and provision of other occupational health services;
  • workplace hazards and risk analysis, including identification of hazards and measurement of their parameters, assessment of health risks arising from hazards, and planning of activities to prevent or reduce those risks;
  • consideration of employee risk groups (minors, pregnant employees, employees with disabilities) in the work environment;
  • informing and involving employees, and the roles and responsibilities of the work environment specialist, work environment representative, and work environment council;
  • organization of first aid;
  • actions in case of risk of an accident or an accident;
  • reporting and investigation of occupational accidents and work-related illnesses;
  • state supervision of occupational health and safety.

  • Understands the duties, rights, and responsibilities of both the employer and the employee

  • Is able to conduct a risk assessment, interpret its results, and make proposals for improving the work environment

  • Is familiar with the safety of work equipment and its safe use

  • Knows how to act in the event of a workplace accident

The training concludes with a test, and participants who successfully pass will be issued a certificate.
