Target group

Work environment representatives, specialists, council members, mid-level managers and employers who themselves fulfil the duties of a work environment specialist in their institution, company or unit.

The organisation of occupational health and safety in a company is regulated by the Occupational Health and Safety Act (new version as of 01.07.2023). This occupational health and safety training is designed according to the procedure for occupational health and safety training and refresher training, which was established by the Ministry of Social Affairs on 22.11.2018 with regulation No. 50, “The Procedure for Training and Continuing Education of Work Environment Representatives, Work Environment Council Members and First Aid Providers in Continuing Education Institutions.”

Objectives

Refresher training must be completed when new safety hazards or health risks arise in the work environment, when there are significant changes in legislation regulating occupational health and safety, or when the work environment representative, council member, employer or Labour Inspectorate deems it necessary. An overview of the key legislative changes since 2019 will be provided.

    Key responsibilities of the employer and employee in terms of occupational health and the work environment, as well as information sources.

    What is an occupational health service and who is the provider of the occupational health service.

    Regulations for remote work and how to conduct a risk assessment for remote work (home office).

    Independent decision-making authority and the updated regulations on on-call time.

    Main occupational hazards, their identification, and creating a risk assessment and action plan.

    Changes in the appointment of a work environment specialist and the election of a work environment representative.

    Internal control requirements and examples.

    Workplace accidents and occupational diseases.

    Physical labour, static working positions and their impact on health.

    Psychosocial risk factors and their impact on health.

    The importance of employee training and guidance, and proper documentation.
