Target group

Workers who are employed in or going to work in Finland, Sweden, Norway or Denmark (e.g. construction workers, drivers, cleaners, welders etc.)

Successfully completing the training is often a prerequisite for applying to companies, primarily in Finland and also in other Nordic countries.

Objectives

The aim of the training is to provide an overview of the basic principles of occupational health and safety in Finland and other Nordic countries, as well as the common hazards found in shared workplaces.

Topics covered

  • Shared workplace: safety, selection by the client/service provider, contract drafting, client, service provider, temporary work, risk assessment, responsibilities related to occupational safety, employer’s responsibilities and obligations, organisation of occupational safety at a shared workplace, occupational health.
  • Shared safety: the principle of zero accidents, economic impacts, risk management, stress factors.
  • Conducting induction at a shared workplace, contents of the induction program.
  • Safe workday: use of tools, machinery and equipment, lifting operations, working on sites with fall hazards, working in enclosed and confined spaces, consideration of chemical hazards, other specialised work, ending the workday at a shared workplace.
  • Action in case of an accident, emergency response, emergency call, gas hazards.

Certificate

At the end of the training day, participants will complete a multiple-choice written test. After completing the training and passing the test, an electronic certificate will be issued, granting immediate authorisation to start work and valid for one month. Upon successfully completing the training, a plastic Occupational Safety Card (työturvallisuuskortti) will be issued, valid for five years. Additionally, the participant will be registered with the Finnish Centre for Occupational Safety (Työturvallisuuskeskus). The Finnish Occupational Safety Card will arrive in Estonia from the Finnish Centre for Occupational Safety within 3 to 4 weeks after the cards are ordered. Once received, the card will be sent to the training participant via regular mail.
