Target group

Work environment specialists, safety representatives, members of the work environment council, mid-level managers and employers who personally handle the responsibilities of a work environment specialist in their organisation or company.

Objectives

The organisation of occupational health and safety in companies is regulated by the Occupational Health and Safety Act (new edition as of 01.04.2023). The training in occupational health and safety has been developed according to the regulations for occupational health and safety training and continuing education established by the Ministry of Social Affairs in regulation No. 50 on 22.11.2018, “The Procedure for Training and Continuing Education of Work Environment Representatives, Work Environment Council Members and First Aid Providers in Continuing Education Institutions.”

  • Occupational Health and Safety Act. Legal requirements – EU directives, Occupational Health and Safety Act (OHSA). Relation to the Employment Contracts Act (ECA), Public Service Act (PSA), and Law of Obligations Act (LOA). Scope of the OHSA.
  • State activities in the field of occupational safety and health.
  • State supervision (administrative procedure); application of misdemeanor liability in occupational safety and health.
  • Organisation of occupational health and safety activities in the company. Employer’s preventive measures in the workplace. Employee information and involvement.
  • The role of work environment specialists, representatives and councils – appointment/election and duties.
  • First aid organisation in the company.
  • Employee and employer obligations, rights and responsibilities.
  • Organising and registering employee instruction and training.
  • Action in case of accident risk and incidents. Workplace accidents. Investigation and registration of workplace accidents.
  • Investigation and notification of work-related illnesses and occupational diseases.
