Target group

First-line and mid-level managers. Aspiring managers who wish to gain knowledge to better organise their work and develop effective practical skills for handling management situations. Specialists who need to lead teams and address interpersonal issues in their work.

Objectives

The aim of the training is to provide managers with practical knowledge, skills, and experiences in the areas outlined in the curriculum. To facilitate experience sharing among participants, thereby effectively developing their management skills.

    1. ROLES AND OBJECTIVES OF A MANAGER

    How does a manager’s work differ from that of a specialist? What is the foundation of a manager’s authority, and how can it be enhanced? How to set effective goals and what criteria should they meet? How to effectively communicate goals to employees?

    2. EFFECTIVE COMMUNICATION IN PEOPLE MANAGEMENT

    What communication skills contribute to success as a manager? How to build well-functioning teamwork and foster a positive atmosphere? Which communication techniques might negatively impact trust and openness? How to effectively use active listening techniques in various management situations? How to prepare for and conduct conversations effectively?

    3. FEEDBACK

    What are the benefits of feedback for the manager, employee, and organisation? What should be considered when giving positive feedback? What to keep in mind when delivering critical feedback? How to effectively receive feedback? How to ask for feedback?

    How to prepare effectively for a feedback conversation in practice? How to lead the conversation efficiently? Practical exercises for preparing and conducting effective feedback discussions.

    4. SELF-MANAGEMENT

    How to plan activities efficiently? How to identify the right priorities using suitable techniques to achieve the maximum possible performance? How to successfully deal with time-wasters?

    5. INTRODUCTION TO COACHING

    What is coaching, and what are its applications in various management situations? What is the manager’s role when adopting a coaching management style?

  • This is not a theoretical lecture but a practical 2-day workshop-style training focused on the most important topics and challenges that managers encounter in their daily work. The aim is to help managers successfully address these issues. Each topic covered during the training includes practical exercises to apply the newly acquired knowledge.

NB! A brief questionnaire will be sent to participants well in advance of the training. This will allow the trainer to consider participants’ key needs and, if possible, adapt the content accordingly. Completing the questionnaire is voluntary.
